1. Nature of the Directory
Gresham Residents Directory is a private reference to public rolls, record indexes, and historic collections connected with Gresham, Oregon. It links to custodians and describes access routes, but does not host government records or represent an office, court, or collection.
2. Permitted Use
Use the directory only for lawful purposes. You may not use it, or information reached through it, to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
- Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order

- Make FCRA-regulated decisions (credit, employment, tenant, insurance)

6. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the directory operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of the directory or an external resource, including decisions based on obtained records.
7. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold the directory operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, resulting from misuse of the directory or violation of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The directory's original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Links and brief attributed quotations are permitted, while republication of full pages or systematic copying is not.
9. Changes to Terms
These terms may be updated by posting a replacement here. Continuing to use the directory after a change indicates acceptance.
10. Restricting Access
Access may be blocked or restricted, without notice, for a user who violates these terms or misuses the directory.
11. Governing Law
Oregon law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Oregon Public Records Law, ORS 192.311–.478, governs access requests to covered public custodians, while it does not turn this private directory into a records office.
12. Severability
If a provision of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
